all the things i buy...

while running an errand in p-ville last week, i came across this little gift shop, oh la la. i'm unable to find a website for it but have hooked you up with the location for now, if any of you locals feel obliged to take a trip over. i was really hoping for a kick-ass candle selection in the side side shop but i was pretty disappointed and wanted to sooth my shopping blues. that is when i stumbled upon this chic canvas bag. a while back, this bag was all the rage because some hottie tottie designer thought up a screened print version. apparently, it wasn't trademarked... i pretty sure they are all over now. but my version was less than $30 and it's embroidered!!! which makes me love it even more.

a few weeks ago i had a debatable discussion with fellow friends about the clean, pristine, white chuck vs. the gunky, falling apart, nasty chuck. i lost the debate. swampy even jumped my ship and sided with the other team. it was a sad day. seeing that i didn't even own a pair of chuck taylors, i decided to truly have an opinion, i needed to try these guys out for myself.

i have. AND i am sticking to the clean and pristine approach. i like the simple clean tennis shoe look with jeans and a tee. what can i say? i like classic and CLEAN!

i am not trying to be a poser, promise. and since i won't be going to emo's anytime soon, it really shouldn't be a problem.

this is another thing i did not purchase, it was given to me as a gift. a very special gift. not only is it a mood ring... the yellow parts glows in the dark! this i figured out last night while i was trying to sneak Oreos out of the kitchen... the glaring light from my super star ring practically blinded me and i almost tripped over myself. these things should come with a health hazard warning.

me and mr. jones

the $5 pashminia from a street vendor in NYC... best.purchase.ever. seriously, i tired buying one for every gal pal in my life but when i went back to the corner of said purchase, the lady was gone. {it was too early in the morning, i had to catch a flight so i couldn't wait, sorry.}

okay... so this isn't the exact table i own. but i couldn't find a pleasant picture. so, just image this table with two drawers on the front and viola!

the table pictured above is from William-Sonoma Home and yes, it's pricey but pretty! mine on the other, wasn't pricey but yet still pretty! i found mine at Target, on clearance!

i carried this bad boy all the way up the stairs, then shimmied it all the way to the bedroom. umm... mirrors are heavy. but it's the perfect piece for my bedroom TV. and when i don't feel like putting my high heels away... it's a perfect place to stash my shoes so turk can't massacre them... again.

technically, i have bought it... but i just don't have it, YET!
i just placed the order for it and i should receive it by tuesday. i purchased it because i think it will be a perfect carry on and around for my trip to NYC. with the dimensions given at ModCloth, i do believe i will be able to fit all my junk in this chic little messenger bag. some may say, 'my, that's a small carry on!' and yes, for most it may be. but i HATE traveling with large, chunky bags. it is such a hassle. i can travel light and still be prepared... i think.

you betcha your bum, i bought more shoes!!! must i remind you?!

these Guess Lagoon are some hiiiigh heels for sure! almost four inches. that would make me a whopping 5'4. they make my legs look great too... like i have muscle tone. which we all know is a lie! they also come in pink, cactus, and sand. i just saw the pink and cactus and i want them!!! but i think that would be a bit of over kill. so i must show restraint.

after weeks of trying to find a dress to the black tie event mentioned below, i made a few phone calls to gather the censuses of what the other guest would be wearing and found that a lot of the ladies would be sporting the cocktail attire. (whew! thank goodness!) so i ran out on friday and the first dress i tried on, this silk jacquard dress from white house|black market, was a ringer!!

you bet your pet loving heart i bought john paul mitchell pet products and i love them! correction, i love using them on my pets. not on me. and i'm sure they could care less with what is lathered up on them while they stand frozen like they just stepped in smelly green chucky goo with an expression that says 'get me the f out of here right now, mom!'

anyhow. the wipes are the best! there is a formula for the ears and eyes, which is perfect for mr. gauger gaugerton. a formula for paws. and a formula for teeth. the oatmeal conditioning spray is great for adding a little moisture to dried out pet skin and a freshening up between baths.

all products are tear free and natural which is a MUST. Tested on Human First!

since i mentioned clocks earlier, i thought i would boast about the best clock ever!

ok... i started typing a long list of why this clock is awesome and then realized... it's an effing CLOCK! so at the off chance i haven't made myself look like a total gadget nerd, which i am thanks to my father, i am bowing out of this post as of right now.

in my whirlwind of new change, one of my points is to drink more water. while i work, i had a problem with getting up and walking a mile and a half to the break room to continuously fill up my water bottle. so i thought if i had a little setup at my desk, i would drink my water since it would be at my finger tips. and so far, so good!

the large tumbler above, from Target, is one of two cups i bought to keep the whole thing a bit more visually interesting.

i've always loved a good notepad and this Kate Spade Long List pad is my new favorite. probably because i am a list making freak. i make list of chores, errands, blog topics, work projects, creative projects, vacation spots, shopping stops, music wants, movie musts, restaurant recs and so on. if i have time to plan anything, there is a list! As you can see from the side of the pad, the pages are striped yellow and white AND each stripe is numbered... here is a great example of proper use.

this body butter is the best! my SIL introduced it to me while she was preggers with these beatuies. it is some thick stuff! the shea butter is the thickest in the entire line of The Body Shop Body Butters. the best part about this lotion, it moisturizes for at least 24 hours and you can feel it! use it for a week and you will be able to tell a huge difference in your skin.

warning: i do not recommend using during the humid months in texas... unless you enjoy sweating like a whore in church.

so i know this seems a little stupid... but that is only because you haven't tried Zatarain's Blackened Chicken Alfredo. it's the creamy crack cocaine of the frozen food aisle. posting this probably makes me look like i refer to my freezer for good cuisine but that is not true at all, i know good food when i taste it... i just refer to my freezer for daily nourishment. i do not cook, not because i can't... because i CAN... i just hate cooking for one. it's boring. hell, cooking for two is boring. i enjoy the whole presentation thing alot more than the actual preparation. so... do not ever be surprised if you hop in for a dinner visit and the bowl of pasta on the dining table looks anything like the picture above. i promise, you will love it.

if God was to make a computer... this is what He would have thought of. it just makes complete and utter sense. i purchased my MacBook at probably the most inappropriate time, my job security was a tad on the rocks, but i have never looked back. not once. i l.o.v.e. my puter.

this is a fun subscription i picked along the way. i think my friend, sheesho, introduced ReadyMade, Instructions for Everyday Life to me somewhere among the yelp talk threads. anyhow, it is such a fun publication. they DIY projects are unique and for the most part an intermediate skill level... i love how before every project they lay out the difficulty level, all the supplies you should need, about what the project should cost and my favorite, how stupid you can be and still complete the project successfully! it has a plethorea of great ideas, i suggest checking it out. the website is pretty helpful as well.

best.product.ever.

working at a beauty supply company has huge perks. i get to try out FANTASTIC {and not so fantastic} products. one thing i have found is the Velvet Molding Gloss by Scruples. The consistency of the product threw me off for a bit... think 'something about mary' and you'll be right on the money. it comes with a little spoon to stir it... that should tell you something! anyhow. i use just a tad bit and smooth it over my hair, making sure to get the ends... run the straightener over one last time and presto... sleek and smooth!

i l.o.v.e. candles.... but who doesn't?! i once met a guy who had more candles in him home than me, it was a little weird. but i appreciated it. pacifica soy candles are one of my favorite brands of candles. my favorite scent is the tuscan blood orange... when i stick my nose to the candle to smell it, the sweet tartness gets me right in the back of my jaw and it makes my mouth water... it so GOOD!
